CODE OF CONDUCT

Grand Slam Arkansas is committed to providing a safe, competitive, family-friendly environment for every player, coach, official, staff member, and spectator.

Youth baseball is about the players. Sportsmanship, respect, and safety will always come before winning a game.

By participating in or attending a Grand Slam Arkansas event, all coaches, players, parents, spectators, and team representatives agree to follow this Code of Conduct.

SPORTSMANSHIP & RESPECT

All participants and spectators are expected to:

* Treat players, coaches, umpires, tournament staff, park employees, opposing teams, and spectators with respect.

* Cheer for and encourage their team without degrading or harassing the opposing team.

* Refrain from profanity, threatening language, obscene gestures, personal attacks, or abusive behavior.

* Respect all umpire and tournament staff decisions.

* Set a positive example for the children participating in the event.

Disagreement with a call, ruling, or decision does not give anyone the right to become abusive, threatening, or disruptive.

ZERO TOLERANCE FOR VIOLENCE

Grand Slam Arkansas has zero tolerance for fighting or physical violence.

Fighting, attempting to fight, threatening physical violence, intentionally initiating unwanted physical contact, or escalating an altercation may result in immediate removal from the facility and additional disciplinary action.

If a disagreement occurs, participants are expected to disengage and allow tournament staff, park personnel, security, or law enforcement to handle the situation.

There is always an opportunity to walk away.

UMPIRES & TOURNAMENT STAFF

Umpires will make judgment calls throughout every game. Coaches may appropriately request clarification when permitted, but harassment, intimidation, threats, or continued arguing will not be tolerated.

Parents and spectators are not permitted to confront umpires regarding calls or rulings.

Tournament staff has the authority to address conduct issues and remove individuals from the facility when necessary to maintain a safe and orderly environment.

COACH RESPONSIBILITY

Head coaches are expected to help maintain appropriate conduct within their team.

Coaches should communicate this Code of Conduct to their players, assistant coaches, parents, and spectators before participating in Grand Slam Arkansas events.

Coaches are expected to assist tournament staff in de-escalating situations involving their team whenever reasonably possible.

PARENTS & SPECTATORS

Parents and spectators are encouraged to be loud, supportive, and enthusiastic while maintaining good sportsmanship.

The following behavior is prohibited:

* Harassing or threatening umpires, coaches, players, staff, or other spectators.

* Entering the playing field or dugout during an altercation unless directed by tournament personnel or necessary to address an immediate safety emergency.

* Fighting or attempting to initiate a physical confrontation.

* Using excessive profanity or abusive language.

* Following, confronting, or attempting to intimidate another participant after a game.

* Refusing to leave the facility after being directed to do so by authorized personnel.

SOCIAL MEDIA & ONLINE CONDUCT

Threats, harassment, targeted personal attacks, or other conduct connected to a Grand Slam event that creates a legitimate safety or operational concern may be reviewed by Grand Slam Arkansas.

Nothing in this policy is intended to prohibit individuals from respectfully expressing opinions, raising concerns, reporting incidents, or communicating truthful information.

ALCOHOL, DRUGS & WEAPONS

Individuals who appear impaired and whose behavior creates a safety or operational concern may be removed from the facility.

Illegal drugs are prohibited.

Weapons must comply with applicable law and facility policies. Threatening, displaying, or using any object or weapon in a manner intended to intimidate or harm another person will result in immediate action and may be referred to law enforcement.

DISCIPLINARY ACTION

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in action including:

* Verbal warning

* Ejection from a game

* Removal from the facility

* Suspension from one or more Grand Slam events

* Team probation

* Team suspension

* Longer-term or indefinite suspension for serious or repeated violations

* Referral to park authorities, security, or law enforcement when appropriate

Disciplinary action will depend on the circumstances, severity of the conduct, available evidence, prior incidents, and applicable Grand Slam policies.

Grand Slam Arkansas reserves the right to review available video, photographs, witness statements, umpire reports, staff reports, and other relevant information when investigating an incident.

EJECTIONS & REMOVAL

Any individual who is ejected or directed to leave must comply immediately and follow instructions from tournament staff regarding where they must go.

Refusal to leave, continued disruption, or returning after being removed may result in additional disciplinary action and involvement of security or law enforcement.

SAFETY FIRST

If an incident occurs, Grand Slam Arkansas personnel may separate individuals or teams, direct people to different exits or areas, suspend or stop games, clear portions of a facility, contact park personnel or security, or contact law enforcement when circumstances warrant.

Our priority is protecting players, families, officials, staff, and everyone attending our events.

REMEMBER WHY WE ARE HERE

These are youth sporting events.

Players will make mistakes.

Coaches will make mistakes.

Umpires will make mistakes.

Parents will disagree with calls.

Games will be won and lost.

None of those things justify threatening, abusive, or violent behavior.

Cheer for your team. Respect your opponent. Respect the officials. Respect the game. Set the example our kids deserve.

ENTRY INTO A GRAND SLAM EVENT CONSTITUTES AGREEMENT

By entering through the gates of any Grand Slam Arkansas event, you acknowledge that you have been given notice of and agree to comply with this Code of Conduct and all applicable Grand Slam rules, regulations, facility policies, and tournament policies.

This applies to all coaches, players, parents, family members, spectators, team representatives, and other attendees.

Failure to read these rules does not excuse violations of the Code of Conduct. Anyone who chooses not to comply may be denied entry, removed from the facility, or subject to disciplinary action consistent with Grand Slam policies.
